It has been over a year now and I still think about that night I heard about the shooting at least once a week.I will always regret not going to the show in beamont tx.It was a month or two before the shooting, my friend did not want to go, but if i would have known it was the only chance to meet the man I would have gone for sure. Ive watched them since i was a child and i sure miss them.I dont really know what to say I am just as shocked today as i was then.To vinnie and the rest of the family from the bottom of my heart I am sorry for your loss and i will always remember the man.

I began playing when I was 9. Ace Frehley was my first and lasting idol on the guitar. I got into Pantera in 1990. Dime's riffs with Vinnie's percussion, Rex's driving bass and topped by Phillip's angry voice resulted in the perfect metal sound. It NEVER gets old. I played in several metal bands but never had the guts to try Darrell's stuff live. I always loved the fact that Darrell liked Kiss; our roots were similar. What an awesome inspiration Darrell is and will continue to be to us all that love his sound, but more importantly, the spirit behind the sound. Rest easy, Dime. We love ya' and miss ya'

I was never a fan of Pantera but I just watched the story Behind the Music and was very touched. I'm a father of two and when I saw Darrell's dad break down it moved me. The loss to a father of there child is the worst thing that can happen. May he rest in peace and I hope his family will be able to continue to move forward. For one day they will all be together again.

I heard about his death the day after it happened. I was shocked at what happened, and what was to be of Damageplan. I just found the In The River music video tribute by Zakk Wylde, and I've watched it about 50 times. It sucks that I never got to meet him or even see him in concert. Dimebag was the God of metal music. He was a God amongst men, and goddammit he still is. I remeber the first tiem I heard Dimes playing, it was the solo for 'I'm Broken'. I was mesmerised, and I've kept tabs on what eh was up to ever since. I'm so glad i got to see Damageplan at Download 2004, but I've felt empty ever since his murder. We love you so much Dimebag, and I'm sure you're having some cold brews with Hendrix and Randy Rhoads. We'll never forget you, and I'll see you soon.
One year on....fuck me. I can still remember the exact moment when I found out, sitting in work without a care in the world when a mate told me. First I thought he was joking but when I thought about it I realised that a rabid Pantera fan like him wouldn't lie to a fellow fan or even joke about something so messed up. I actually had to take a break after I found out so shocked and dumbfounded was I that such a great talent and a great man was taking away from us. I never got the chance to see him play live, living in Scotland the last time Pantera were supposed to play 9/11 had just happened and they pulled out of the gig. But Dimebag will always live on, and I'm sure everyone wishes his family all the best on this, the one year anniversary of the tragedy. Dimebag Darrell = An inspiration for a million lifetimes to anyone and everyone who has ears to hear the most wonderful sounds to be produced from a guitar and amplifier, period. Dime you are sorely missed, brother! I never met you, but I knew you very well. You were, are, and ALWAYS will be an inspiration to me. I swear I will be rockin' your music when I'm fuckin' eighty, man. I love you for all your greatness. Dime, you are absolutely without parallel, brother, period! May God hold you in his arms for all eternity. R.I.P Dimebag Darrell.
Im only 13 and have only been listing to dimebag play for a little while. Even no i never got to go to a pantera or any concert with dimebag i could still almost cry just thinking and reading about his death. Death was way to good of a punishment for his killer........

I just wanted to say... It has been a long time and I miss Darrell for all of us who knew him he actually hated being called dimebag. I grew up with Darrell in Arlington, TX. (Pantego) and it has taken me this long to morn about him. Darrell was not just a great guitarist he was a coooooool person, he really did not have a bad bone in his body and that is why it is so hard to believe. To all you Pantera loving people, ROCK ON... dimebag we fuckin love u.. no matter what anyone says you were the best guitarist there was and no one else could ever take your place, when i heard about your death i acually cried... it still seems like this should not have happend, im fourteen and i will keep playing your songs and listening to your music for as long as i live. Thanks for inspiring me to pick up the guitar. RIP DIME
He was a crummy guitar player. But I did like that time when he rode out on stage on a pigmy pony wearing a tutu and handing out spanish onions to the audience.
